Managing Director: Simon Palmer

Simon joined the business in June 2006 as Head of Finance, IT and Logistics bringing with him over 20 years of experience in senior finance positions including Samworth Brothers Group, Arla UK plc, CSG plc and Sears. In his original role Simon was responsible in helping devise a turnaround strategy for the business.

Simon in his new role as Managing Director is now leading and focusing his Executive Team on moving the business forward to achieve the business turnaround strategy. Simon’s aim is to create a business which offers the best product at great value prices delivered with unbeatable Customer Service!

Head of Buying & Merchandising: Savina Barnes

Savina joined the team in September 2006 and has over 20 years experience buying footwear. Savina’s career started in footwear retail before moving to Buying, firstly with Stead and Simpson for 9 years, then 10 years at Primark as senior buyer and buying controller (footwear).

 

Savina is responsible for the entire Buying and Merchandising functions including Quality Control and with a strong team of 24 aims to deliver the best products, prices and quality to our customers at all times.

Head of Operations: Barry Marchant

Barry joined the business in February 2006 having previously worked in the Co-operative group for 21 years heading Retail Operations in various businesses including Travel, Funerals and Optical.

Barry is responsible for the National Retail Branch network as well as Training, Marketing/display and Retail Development. He and his widely experienced team have a mission – “To bring Great Customer Service back to footwear retailing and to promote the Customer is King ethos in Everything we do”

Head of Property: Mark Williams

Mark, a Chartered Surveyor and a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, previously worked in commercial private practise in the Midlands before moving to Shoefayre in September 1997.

Mark in his role as Head of Property is responsible for the entire Shoefayre property estate. So as well as managing our assets, he and his team are also leading our refit and our New store opening programmes, plus on top of that making sure we comply with current and future Health and Safety legislation.

Head of IT, HR and Finance: Charlie Bloor

Charlie joined Shoefayre in May 2007. Charlie qualified as a chartered accountant with Ernst & Young (London), then spent 9 years at The Boots Company plc which included roles at Boots the Chemist, Boots Opticians and Boots Healthcare International.

 

Charlie as well as being responsible for the Finance function also leads the IT and HR teams within the business to ensure that every opportunity is maximised to the benefit of the business and its employees.
